WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE FOR 'DAVID GEMMELL LEGEND AWARD FOR FANTASY!'

The DGLA was presented for the very first time in 2009 for the best Fantasy novel of 2008. The winner was Andrzej Sapkowski's much loved 'Blood of Elves'

Here is a response from Mr Sapkowski on the news of his win!

"I am very happy and proud to be a winner in the contest for The David Gemmell Legend Award, the prize precious to me indeed, as I am a great admirer of the writings of the late David A. Gemmell. I would like to express my gratitude to all the readers who voted for my book. I would also like to thank and congratulate all the other fellow writers in the final poll. Finally, it is fantasy - our genre - that was the ultimate winner."

Our thanks to Derrick Lakin-Smith for making this possible.

Nominations for the best Fantasy of 2009 will open to the publishers in October 2009. Voting on the Longlist will begin again on Boxing Day!

In the meantime, if you'd like to create a Member page it is FREE and takes only 5 minutes.

If you become a Member the DGLA will send you occasional Bulletins to let you know how the Awards - and the plans for the Award Ceremony - are progressing. (Although, if you would rather NOT receive any Bulletins, just click the box in your Privacy preferences and we won't email you!) Also, Members can post in the FORUMS, where you can discuss the Nominated books to your heart's content...
